How to install ShoutMe on the PC and phone.

Install the PC software first, then the Android app. The Android app can be downloaded from the top menu, but the PC software download requires purchase. Both devices must be on the same local network for ShoutMe to work.

Windows PC

Install the PC software

Buy the PC software and download ShoutMeListenerSetup.exe.
Run the setup EXE on the target PC.
Allow the app through Windows Firewall on your private network if prompted.
Look for the ShoutMe icon in the system tray and leave it running.

Android Phone

Install the app

Use the Android App menu at the top of the page to download ShoutMe.apk.
Open the APK and allow installation from your browser or files app if Android asks.
Connect the phone to the same Wi-Fi network as the target PC.
Launch ShoutMe and press the red button.

Using ShoutMe

What each mode does

Popup: shows a visible SHOUT! message on the PC.
Sound: plays the custom alert sound on the PC.
Shutdown: schedules a visible Windows shutdown timer from 30 seconds to 10 minutes.
Optional message: lets you add context like "Dinner now" or "Come downstairs".

If It Does Not Connect

Quick checks

Make sure the PC software is running in the system tray.
Make sure both devices are on the same local network.
Allow private network access in Windows Firewall.
If the app says the remote system is not found, start the PC software again on the PC.
